Designed by Mario Loreti in 1938, this 4-star hotel is set in the historic centre of Rome, on Esquilino; the highest of Rome’s 7 hills. Offering a magnificent panoramic view of Rome, it was initially designed to be a hotel in the grand European style and this goal has indeed been fulfilled; with 254 rooms on 10 floors, the building stands at over 50 metres high. Its interior design is inspired by a monumental and understated luxury; the lobby is adorned with marble busts of Roman Emperors and mosaics portraying the departure and return of Udysses to Ithaca, the young Telemacus, Penelope and his dog Argus. The decoration is dominated by precious woods and marble, and a sea motif is present throughout the hotel.
