Palazzo Mannaioni is situated in the historic centre of Montaione , a small medieval hamlet on top of a hill, 341 metres above sea level, about 50 kms away from the most important art cities in Tuscany such as Florence, Siena and Pisa and just 10 kilometres away from San Gimignano and Volterra. The surrounding territory offers glimpses of rare and pure beauty: rows of vines, thick olive groves, secular chestnut trees and holm-oak trees and clay hills which reflect the changing colours of the seasons. Palazzo Mannaioni has 27 rooms, 5 of which are Junior Suites on 2 levels and 2 new Suites. Each room has completely restored furniture and has been fully-equipped with all comforts. Each room has maintained the character of a private residence; the furnishings are characteristically Tuscan, with wood furniture which has been carefully selected. Many rooms have exposed beams and traditional Tuscan flooring with the original terracotta bricks, the rest have distinctive fresco and hard-wood floors. Some rooms overlook the roofs of Montaione’s historic centre, whilst others are located on top of the ancient communication trenches of the Castle, looking out onto the beautifully landscaped Italian-style garden and swimming-pool. From the balconies of the junior suites, at sunset on clear evenings, you can admire the profile of the hills in the distance, and the sun which sets in the light blue colors of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
