This impressive hotel, surrounded by a large park with centuries-old trees, a gazebo and sun terrace, is 1167 metres above sea level in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park. Originally owned by the uncle of Benedetto Croce, a famous Italian philosopher, the residence was built at the beginning of the 20th century in the late Liberty style. With marble floors and crystal chandeliers in the public areas, it is unsurprising that it has accommodated many artists, politicians and famous names from show business. The bedrooms are also individually designed. At night the pathways through the park are lit up, providing a great setting for a romantic walk.
